Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2, known as Dancing Stage Unleashed 2 in Europe, is a music video game in the Dance Dance Revolution series developed and published by Konami and released in 2004 on Xbox.
General Information / Changes[]
Ultramix 2 version[]
- Released the same day as DDR FESTIVAL -Dance Dance Revolution-.
- The menu music from this game is shared with DDR FESTIVAL -Dance Dance Revolution-.
- Brand-new interface replaces the one from ULTRAMIX. Differences include:
- Songs being listed on the far right side coming up as you scroll left to right. Ten songs are listed at a time in rectangular boxes, with your grades for a song are listed in these boxes as well from top to bottom: LIGHT, STANDARD, and then HEAVY.
- Banners are now to the immediate left of the GROOVE RADAR, itself on the far left of the screen. BPM of a song is listed underneath it, followed by foot difficulty levels. On the bottom left lists difficulty levels, which are toggled with just a single up/down press.
- Similar to ULTRAMIX, the default song sort consists of a small set of licenses in alphabetical order, followed by the remaining songs ordered roughly by their STANDARD difficulties.
- However, unlike its predecessor, ULTRAMIX2 contains more licenses than those in the first group, which are mixed in with the KONAMI originals.
- New, high-resolution generic clips replace the original clips from the Dance Dance Revolution arcades games used in ULTRAMIX.
- First ULTRAMIX title with BEGINNER charts, and the first Dance Dance Revolution game to have Double BEGINNER charts (though only three have proper data: DLC songs La Senorita and Silent Hill have Double BEGINNER charts, and era nostalmix has both Single and Double BEGINNER charts; the others are just procedurally generated edits of their LIGHT charts).
- No ratings are displayed for BEGINNER charts, and scores don't save for them.
- First ULTRAMIX title with music from the A Different Drum music label, who would continue to provide licenses and original compositions for every Xbox / Xbox 360 title up to Dance Dance Revolution UNIVERSE3.
- First Xbox Dance Dance Revolution title to feature Dancemania licenses.
- ULTRAMIX2's official website, along with several final release copies of the game, incorrectly display a T for Teen rating by the ESRB, instead of the game's official E rating.
- Unlike ULTRAMIX, ULTRAMIX2's new song packs also contain brand-new KONAMI originals and licenses.
- Song coloration on the music select has changed from ULTRAMIX:
- White for default songs.
- Yellow for unlocked songs.
- Green for previous DLC song packs from ULTRAMIX.
- Pink for new DLC song packs.
- Total songs: 70 (plus 30 new DLC songs and 30 from ULTRAMIX)
Unleashed 2 version[]
- The European counterpart of Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX2, keeping its interface, DLC song packs, and unlocking system.
- The main notable difference between Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX2 and Dancing Stage Unleashed2 is the first group of licenses, with 11 out of 12 songs from ULTRAMIX2 (all but Rubberneckin' Paul Oakenfold Remix Radio Edit, which is retained but retitled as simply Rubberneckin') being replaced by 13 brand-new licenses for Unleashed2. In addition, for unknown reasons, EyeSpy has also been removed.
- Consequently, Dancing Stage Unleashed2 contains one song more than Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX2.

- First Unleashed title with BEGINNER charts.
- Also the first Dancing Stage game with Double BEGINNER charts.
- However, as with Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX2, nearly all BEGINNER charts in the game are merely automatically generated charts which use the songs' respective LIGHT charts as a base; the only exceptions are the DLC songs La Senorita and Silent Hill, which have proper Double BEGINNER data, and era nostalmix, which has proper data for both. Starting from Dancing Stage Unleashed3, most new songs would receive proper BEGINNER charts, though some returning ones would never get them.
- No ratings are displayed for BEGINNER charts.
- First Xbox Dancing Stage title to feature Dancemania licenses.
- Total songs: 71 (plus 30 new DLC songs and 30 from Unleashed)
