Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Wiki

Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 3, known as Dancing Stage Unleashed 3 in Europe, is a music video game in the Dance Dance Revolution series developed and published by Konami and released in 2005 on Xbox.

General Information/New Changes[]

Ultramix 3 version[]

  • Interface is based on Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2, though with a bubble motif.
  • First ULTRAMIX title with CHALLENGE charts, named ONI. Note that ONI charts can only be found by pressing down on HEAVY on songs that have them, as they're not listed with the other difficulty levels, similar to BEGINNER charts. However, ONI charts' stats are still visible on the Groove Radar at all times.
  • Unlike Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX and ULTRAMIX2, the default song sort divides songs into categories (licenses, new KONAMI originals, etc.), with the songs in each group appearing in alphabetical order. This would be the norm for the rest of the Xbox series.
  • First ULTRAMIX title to include Quest Mode, a single-player mode to unlock new songs and characters, which would be present in some form in all subsequent ULTRAMIX and UNIVERSE titles.
    • Unlike those games, ULTRAMIX3's Quest Mode isn't required to unlock songs, as every hidden song has a second unlock method more in line with those in the first two ULTRAMIX titles.
  • First ULTRAMIX title to include licensed songs in its DLC song packs, as well as the only title in the Xbox series to feature free DLC, in the form of two single-song packs that were available for a limited time.
    • Unlike ULTRAMIX and ULTRAMIX2, only three full song packs were released for ULTRAMIX3, in addition to the two free songs.
    • All three of ULTRAMIX3's full song packs consist of a new license, a new remix of an L.E.D. song, a new BEMANI crossover, a formerly CHALLENGE-only song from DDRMAX2 -Dance Dance Revolution 7thMIX- given a full set of charts, and an unaltered revival of an old KONAMI original. Both free single-song packs consist of a new remix of an Akira Yamaoka song.
  • Any songs with stops have their minimum BPM listed as 0.
  • Giudecca's vocal samples have been changed, due to explicit language.
  • Crazy In Love and Miracle Moon L.E.D.LIGHT STYLE MIX both feature slightly longer cuts than their other Dance Dance Revolution appearances (the latter actually taken from the beatmania 5thMIX ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK's Nonstop Megamix), though their charts are unchanged.
  • Features dance footage and performances by the dancer group The Groovaloos as background animations.
  • Only Dance Dance Revolution title where the announcer makes comments on specific songs.
  • Banners for DLC songs from ULTRAMIX and ULTRAMIX2 have been updated and no longer have their corresponding Song Pack number in them.
  • Total songs: 71 (plus 17 new DLC songs and 60 from previous titles)

Unleashed 3 version[]

  • Final Xbox Dancing Stage title.
  • European counterpart of Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX3, keeping its interface, DLC song packs, and unlocking system.
    • The only notable difference between Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX3 and Dancing Stage Unleashed3 is the first group of licenses, with all 18 songs from the North American version being replaced by 20 licenses (one from Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME2 and 19 brand-new).
      • Consequently, Dancing Stage Unleashed3 contains two more songs than Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX3.
  • With all available DLC song packs, Unleashed3 holds the record for the largest European home console song list, with a whopping 150 songs, and the second largest in any region after Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX4's 163 songs.
    • However, the largest on-disc song list record is still held by the Japanese PlayStation 2 release of Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME, with 111 songs.
  • Only Unleashed title with CHALLENGE charts, named ONI. Note that ONI charts can only be found by pressing down on HEAVY on songs that have them, as they're not listed with the other difficulty levels, similar to BEGINNER charts. However, ONI charts' stats are still visible on the Groove Radar at all times.
    • For unknown reasons, ONI charts in Unleashed3 aren't given difficulty ratings, which would be the norm in the Xbox series until Dancing Stage UNIVERSE2.
  • Only Unleashed title to include Quest Mode, a single-player mode to unlock new songs and characters, which would also be present in some form in both of the UNIVERSE titles.
    • Unlike those games, Unleashed3's Quest Mode isn't required to unlock songs, as every hidden song has a second unlock method more in line with those in the first two Unleashed titles.
    • Despite being a European title, Unleashed3's Quest Mode is unaltered from ULTRAMIX3 (aside from song list differences) and still involves traveling across the United States and Canada.
  • Only Xbox Dancing Stage title to feature on-screen lyrics, for most of the new licenses.
  • Any songs with stops have their minimum BPM listed as 0.
  • Giudecca's vocal samples have been changed, due to explicit language.
  • Features dance footage and performances by the dancer group The Groovaloos as background animations.
  • Only Dancing Stage title where the announcer makes comments on specific songs.
  • Banners for DLC songs from Unleashed and Unleashed2 have been updated and no longer have their corresponding Song Pack number in them.
  • Total songs: 73 (plus 17 new DLC songs and 60 from previous titles)
