Dance Dance Revolution WORLD, is an entry in the Dance Dance Revolution series developed by Konami and released on June 12th 2024 on arcade platforms.
General Information / Changes[]
- First Dance Dance Revolution arcade game without support for CRT-based cabinets or SD resolution. Other cabinet models released since Dance Dance Revolution X remain supported.
- A new announcer replaces Justin and Wil-Dog from Ozomatli, which were in use since X.
- First time in any mainline Dance Dance Revolution arcade title where the announcer makes a comment during language select and e-amusement login.
- The SPEED modifier has been reworked into the HI-SPEED (ハイスピード) modifier, allowing players to adjust the scroll speed in increments of 0.05x. It also shows the approximate maximum, minimum, and main scroll speeds when applying this modifier.
- The Shock Arrow window has been significantly reduced in size, making Shock Arrows much harder to trigger compared to prior Dance Dance Revolution titles.
- CONSTANT modifier added; arrows fade in as they reach the Step Zone depending on the current BPM. This is exclusive to Premium Play and Galaxy Play.
- This was previously used in Dance Dance Revolution A3 when playing 鳳 as the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE song in the BABY-LON'S GALAXY event.
- FLARE gauge options can now be selected for any song in Premium Play.
- A new FLARE gauge option, FLOATING FLARE, has been added. Starting with FLARE EX, the FLARE rank will automatically change to the next lower rank when the gauge depletes, all the way down to FLARE I. The FLARE rank at the end of the song will be the final rank achieved. This is exclusive to Galaxy Play.
- Gauge depletion for FLARES I to IV have been lowered. New recommended scores for each FLARE rank are as follows:
- I: 800,000 (previously 920,000)
- II: 850,000 (previously 930,000)
- III: 900,000 (previously 940,000)
- IV: 930,000 (previously 950,000)
- Options that could only be changed by visiting the official site can now be changed in-game.
- Icons that show if a selected chart has freeze arrows, shock arrows, stops, and/or speed changes have been added to the song selection screen.
- Folder clear lamps are gone. Song clear lamps have been replaced by icons:
- A rainbow "MFC" for a marvelous full combo.
- A golden "PFC" for a perfect full combo.
- A bright green "GFC" for a great full combo.
- A bright blue "FC" for a good full combo.
- A red "CLEAR" for a song cleared on LIFE4 gauge.
- A blue "CLEAR" for a song cleared with a regular life gauge.
- Any non-full combo clear with any FLARE gauge will also result in a blue "CLEAR" icon.
- A purple "CLEAR" for a song cleared with any assist settings enabled.
- FLARE clears now appear as a colored "FLARE" frame surrounding the song jacket. The color of the frame varies depending on the FLARE gauge level:
- I: Dark blue
- II: Light blue
- III: Green
- IV: Yellow
- V: Red
- VI: Purple
- VII: Dark gray
- VIII: Silver
- IX: Shiny gold
- EX: Bright pastel pink/yellow/cyan
- The Stage Result screen now displays whether a song was cleared with the LIFE4 gauge or Assist settings.
- STEP ZONE backgrounds feature Emi (1P) and Rage (2P) in them by default.
- Many older songs' displayed BPM values on the song selection screen now reflect their actual sync (for example, PARANOiA (song)'s BPM fluctuates between 170 and 184, and the song selection screen now shows those values, rather than 180 BPM as displayed in previous games).
- Aside from the scale change in X, Dance Dance Revolution WORLD contains the highest number of difficulty changes in a single Dance Dance Revolution game.
- Most songs rated Level 1 have been changed to a higher level.
- Tohoku EVOLVED no longer displays its "Pray for All" message when clearing the song.
- DDR SELECTION has been removed.
- Life gauges other than LIFE4 can now be selected for EXTRA STAGE.

- All returning player data from Dance Dance Revolution A3 will transfer over to WORLD, except for ghost scores, final play time, and course results.
- When entering the e-amusement PIN, the buttons no longer play the first four notes of PARANOiA.
- The Groove Radar has been removed.
- All previous NONSTOP and DAN courses have been removed.
- First mainline version of Dance Dance Revolution that does not display "Here We Go" when gameplay begins.
- First arcade version of Dance Dance Revolution since 2014 with no "HOW TO PLAY" or tutorial feature.

As of September 25th, 2025, these songs can be unlocked through EXTRA SAVIOR WORLD.
WORLD LEAGUE[]
WORLD LEAGUE began on October 10th, 2024. It is similar to the GOLDEN LEAGUE events from A20 through A3; it even reuses the LEAGUE SCORE system from GOLDEN LEAGUE A3. Unlike the past GOLDEN LEAGUEs, though, it is available on all cabinets, not just 20th anniversary model ones.
Advanced Border rewards have been added to BRONZE CLASS members (150000 points); they are able to access SILVER CLASS exclusive songs in advance. CHALLENGE charts for older GOLDEN LEAGUE songs are also no longer unlockable through WORLD LEAGUE; they are periodically made available by default instead.
Note: Rewards are given at the end of each Period.
BEMANI PRO LEAGUE -SEASON 4- Triple Tribe[]
The BEMANI PRO LEAGUE -SEASON 4- Triple Tribe event started on October 24th, 2024, and ended on January 5th, 2025. It was later revived from March 28th to April 20th, 2025. This event can only be played on beatmania IIDX LIGHTNING MODEL, Dance Dance Revolution 20th anniversary model, and SOUND VOLTEX -Valkyrie model- cabinets.
Since October 23rd, 2025, these songs can be unlocked through EXTRA SAVIOR WORLD.
GALAXY BRAVE[]
The GALAXY BRAVE event was teased on December 21st, 2024, during the final round of the BEMANI PRO LEAGUE -SEASON 4- Dance Dance Revolution division, and properly announced on February 4th, 2025. This event is exclusive to Galaxy Play. If two players play the event, and only one of them used Galaxy Play, the other player cannot progress.
During EXTRA STAGE, players can access the GALAXY BRAVE folder, which contains preset Trial Rooms with three TRIAL songs each. Players can then choose and play one of the three TRIAL songs per credit. After clearing all available TRIALs, a FINAL TRIAL, which uses a brand-new song, is available for unlock by clearing its charts. The charts for the new songs are unlocked individually, with both Single and Double charts being unlocked at the same time. Clearing a TRIAL in any difficulty will also unlock the lower difficulties for the song. After unlocking the EXPERT charts of the FINAL TRIAL, players can also unlock the CHALLENGE charts by clearing them in their respective Trial Rooms.
By default, TRIALs 1 to 3 use FLARE GAUGE III, while the FINAL TRIAL uses FLARE GAUGE V. If you fail to clear a chart, the FLARE GAUGE for the same song will be relaxed by one level the next time you play, down to FLARE GAUGE I.
BEMANI PRO LEAGUE -SEASON 5- Triple Tribe 0[]
The BEMANI PRO LEAGUE -SEASON 5- Triple Tribe 0 event started on July 17th, 2025 and ended on September 1st, 2025. Unlike previous Triple Tribe events, this is event is not exclusive to Dance Dance Revolution 20th anniversary model cabinets.
