Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Wiki

Dancing Stage featuring Disney's RAVE is a music video game developed and published by Konami and released in 2000 on Arcade in Japan. It was also released the same day on the PlayStation under the name Dance Dance Revolution: Disney's RAVE in Japan. The PlayStation version was later released in 2001 in North America under the name Dance Dance Revolution: Disney MIX and in Europe as Dancing Stage: Disney MIX.

The game features the traditional gameplay of the Dance Dance Revolution series while including characters from the Disney franchise.

A Game Boy version was also released as Dance Dance Revolution GB: Disney Mix.

Arcade version[]

An arcade version, Dancing Stage featuring Disney's Rave (one of the few non-European releases using the Dancing Stage name, normally used for DDR games in Europe), was also released in Japan. It is considered one of the rarest arcade versions of DDR.

General Information / Changes[]

  • Most of the song list is comprised of Eurobeat covers of Disney songs and licensed covers.
    • The only three songs that are not covers/remixes are D.D.D ! 〜Happy 65th Anniversary for Donald Duck〜, Let's Twist Again, and Night of Fire.

    • Also the only arcade Dance Dance Revolution game to have individual music comments in-game, much like the pop'n music series.

Gameplay[]

Gameplay is typical to other 4th Mix generation DDR games. The game also features Dance Magic mode, an item battle mode using a tug of war style lifebar, where combos increase a gauge which sends modifiers to the other player. The mode was not seen on any future DDR game until it was revived as Battle mode on SuperNOVA.

Characters[]

Console versions[]

Versions for the original PlayStation gaming system were released in North America, Japan and Europe. European and US versions had slightly different song lists than the Japanese version and included an unlockable "Maniac" difficulty level that could be reached once "Basic" and "Trick" difficulties were completed for each song. A Game Boy version of the game was also released in Japan.

General Information / Changes[]
