Song Connections / Remixes[]
- ΔMAX contains samples songs of the MAX series of boss songs, most notably from MAX 300 and The legend of MAX.
- An early version of ΔMAX was used as the EXTRA STAGE song for the DDR Forever Stepmania cabinet at the arcade Tokyo Game Action. This early version has softer keyboards and it lacks the explosion sounds every 100 BPM milestones of the song.
- ØVER《Δ》's title and BPM changes are references to ΔMAX [1].
Trivia[]
- ΔMAX was originally the EXTRA STAGE of DDR Forever, a fan-made Dance Dance Revolution game that was run by the StepMania simulator.
- The song was intended to be only playable in DDR Forever, but eventually the simfile was leaked online.
- As such, ΔMAX is the first BEMANI song that was first originated on a BEMANI simulator.
- ΔMAX, along with aftershock!! and Your Angel being crossed over mark William Shillito's first appearance in the arcade Dance Dance Revolution series.
- Prior to Dance Dance Revolution WORLD, ΔMAX's music video, based on Dance Dance Revolution UNIVERSE3's generic videos, eliminates any on-screen dancers.
- In Dance Dance Revolution II / hottest party5, ΔMAX's video is played in a tiny monitor on the opposite side of the player on Single and in the center on Double/Versus, due to Nintendo Wii memory limitations.
- ΔMAX's BPM starts at 100 and gradually builds up by 1 BPM per quarter beat until it hits 573 BPM. This is shown by its unique video.
- The same sound effect is played every time the BPM hits a multiple of 100; this is accompanied in ΔMAX's video with a cut-in announcing a new "section".
- A post by DM Ashura on reddit details ΔMAX's BPM changes.
- ΔMAX's final BPM, 573, is a reference to the KONAMI number.
- Also, ΔMAX's EXPERT charts have 573 notes.
- Prior to Dance Dance Revolution WORLD, ΔMAX's maximum BPM is shown as 573.
- Δ is the uppercase Greek letter "Delta", the fourth letter in the Greek alphabet. In mathematics and science, an uppercase Δ is a common abbreviation for "change" (e.g. Δx is shorthand for "change in x").
- This might be a reference to ΔMAX's constant gradual BPM changes.
- In Dance Dance Revolution UNIVERSE3, ΔMAX can be unlocked in QUEST MODE by beating Simba on the final floor of the Universe Tower.
- As of December 24th, 2010, ΔMAX's CHALLENGE charts have been made available for play in Dance Dance Revolution X2. These charts were written by DM Ashura himself as the original EXPERT charts planned for ΔMAX.
- ΔMAX's CHALLENGE charts were not playable in the North American/European arcade release of Dance Dance Revolution X2 due to the lack of e-AMUSEMENT in those regions.
- ΔMAX appears as downloadable content for Dance Dance Revolution S+, in the Mega Mix 6 pack.
- ΔMAX is used as background music in a mission on the KONAMI arcade game ROAD FIGHTERS (ロードファイターズ).
- In Dance Dance Revolution II / hottest party5, ΔMAX is one of the Replicant D-action hidden songs.
- When sorted alphabetically, ΔMAX was sorted under the "number & symbol" (数字 記号) folder in Dance Dance Revolution (2013) and Dance Dance Revolution (2014). The name of this folder changed to "NUMBER" in Dance Dance Revolution A, which resulted in ΔMAX being erroneously sorted under it. This was fixed on June 9th, 2016 by moving ΔMAX to the "D" folder.
- ΔMAX was one of the qualifying round songs in The 6th KONAMI Arcade Championship for Dance Dance Revolution A.
- ΔMAX's difficulty level change from Dance Dance Revolution A20 was applied to Dance Dance Revolution A on March 27th, 2019.
- ΔMAX is available in Dance Dance Revolution GRAND PRIX's GRAND PRIX mode from December 20th, 2021, by purchasing the GRAND PRIX music pack vol.1 (グランプリ楽曲パック vol.1).
